Indoor vendors hosted Saturdays through April
Midland’s Live Oak Coffeehouse is offering a slice of the farmers market experience every weekend this winter season.
From 7: 30 a.m. to noon every Saturday through April, patrons can “Meet the Makers” at the winter market inside Live Oak, 711 Ashman St.
Vendors will vary but include jewelry makers, fresh meat and produce, books, baked goods, handmade soaps and more. This past Saturday featured vendors such as Shepherd Organic Produce and Poultry, Enchanted Root Apothecary, Leopard Print Books, Gifts and Curiosities, Went Weird Creations, DMS Fish Supply, Cabana Soaps and more.
And, of course, shoppers can grab a coffee or their favorite Live Oak item while they’re there, too.
Live Oak Manager Daniel Terhune said the goal is to help support local makers and growers by providing them an opportunity to sell their products in the winter, when the regular farmers market is closed.
“Most businesses are open all year round and for a lot of the (vendors) they have limited options for making an income during the winter months,” he said. “And we like supporting them and creating opportunities for small businesses to thrive.”
In regard to the pandemic, Terhune said they are limiting the number of vendors compared to last year, to keep from overcrowding the space and allow for social distancing.
